Accra, Ghana - Renowned Ghanaian socialite and entertainer Mona Montrage, popularly known as Hajia 4Real, commenced her prison sentence on August 1, 2024, following her conviction for romance fraud and money laundering.
Hajia 4Real, an actress and singer, admitted to being involved in a fraudulent scheme targeting elderly American men. This admission led to her conviction and subsequent sentencing after a trial that lasted over a year.
On June 28, 2024, Hajia 4Real was sentenced to one year and one day in prison. Her lawyer stated that she will complete her sentence by January 2025, as she has already served part of it during the trial period.
Meanwhile, former actress and now blogger, Afia Schwarzenegger, has publicly mocked Hajia 4Real as she begins her prison term. Schwarzenegger criticized Hajia 4Real for her actions, describing her downfall as a result of greed and predicting that her reputation will forever be tarnished as an ex-convict.
