The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has reportedly entered negotiations with Ghanaian musician Kwame Yogot, seeking to use his popular track "Biibi Besi" for their upcoming campaign. Initially, the NPP offered GHC 500,000 for the rights to the song, but Kwame Yogot’s team countered with a demand for GHC 1,000,000.

The original version of "Biibi Besi" features acclaimed artist Kuami Eugene, whose contribution to the track has been significant in its widespread success. As part of the ongoing negotiations, it has been made clear that any financial agreement reached will also include a share for Kuami Eugene, ensuring that both artists are fairly compensated.

Nana Akomea, a prominent NPP leader, has been leading the discussions on behalf of the party, recognizing the song’s potential to connect with voters, particularly the youth. With its infectious rhythm and relatable message, "Biibi Besi" has become a fan favorite, making it an attractive option for the NPP's campaign.

As deliberations continue, both sides are optimistic about reaching a deal that satisfies all parties involved. If finalized, this agreement could see "Biibi Besi" become a central element of the NPP's electoral strategy, further elevating the song’s profile in Ghana's music and political landscapes.
